PIN-DRIVE™ Moulding Line

The Pin-Drive System is a mould transport mechanism in which the moulds are driven by the precise engagement of the male drive pins mounted on the conveyor chain with the corresponding female sockets integrated into the moulds. This design ensures accurate mould positioning, reliable synchronization, and stable transport throughout the entire production line.

Specifications

Model Capacity Note
PIN-DRIVE 12–15 moulds/min One-shot; 6 servo motors

The PIN-DRIVE™ Moulding Line is the simplest and most reliable way to move moulds through the line: they ride along with the conveyor chain.

The system runs on servo control, with 6 servo motors in the standard build, and deposits using our own ALPY Cam Profile Depositing Program for one-shot work.

  • Capacity: 12–15 moulds per minute for one-shot products

What is the ALPY Cam Profile Automation System?

The ALPY Cam Profile Automation System is an advanced motion control technology that ensures perfect synchronization of all servo-driven process stations throughout the production line.

For one-shot depositors, the proprietary ALPY Cam Profile Depositing Program provides real-time, fully adjustable motion profiles for every servo motor. These motion curves can be precisely optimized according to the product geometry and recipe, enabling highly accurate chocolate shell and filling deposition.

The Cam Profile program keeps every shot in sync with the mould, so one-shot fillings reach up to 62% of the piece.

Standard stations

The PIN-DRIVE™ Moulding Line, configured with its standard process stations, includes the following units:

  • Mould Heating Tunnel
  • One-Shot Depositor with Vibration
  • Flatted Cooling Tunnel (6 flats, 72 metres total)
  • Automatic Demoulding Unit

Optional stations

The following optional process stations can be integrated into the standard PIN-DRIVE™ Moulding Line to meet specific production requirements:

  • 3D Axis Depositor with Horizontal Cooling Tunnel
  • Ribbon Depositor
  • Block Chocolate Depositor
  • Granule and Chocolate/Cream Mixing Unit
  • Biscuit Feeding System with Pressing Unit
  • Whole Nut & Almond Feeding Unit

Is PIN-DRIVE the right line for you?

Choose the PIN-DRIVE for dedicated, stable production at the lowest sensible investment. If your product range changes often or you want to add station types over time, the modular MODUFLEX is built for that. For filled chocolates with deposited shells, you need the Shell Moulding Line. Not sure? Describe your products and volumes and we will tell you straight which line earns its cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much cooling does the PIN-DRIVE provide and how compact is it?
The cooling tunnel is built as 6 stacked flats — 72 metres of total cooling length folded into a fraction of the floor space, so product releases cleanly at line speed.
What output, servo count and mould sizes does it run?
12 to 15 moulds per minute for one-shot products, driven by 6 servo motors and the same ALPY Cam Profile Depositing Program as the flagship lines, with mould dimensions of 470 x 200 x 30 mm or 600 x 205 x 30 mm.
How are moulds transported through the line?
Pins on the chain engage slots in each mould, so the moulds travel with the chain for positive mechanical advancement through every station, with no transfer mechanisms to drift out of adjustment.
